The date an insurance policy's coverage is started. Also called effective date.

The date an insurance policy's cover expires.
Stands for 'Long Term Agreement'
It's not used much nowadays - but used to be if you agreed to renew your insurance with an insurer for 3 years they would give you a discount of 5% - if they then increased the premium in that 3 years the LTA was broken and you were free to go elsewhere.
